Hi, I am Amy … I work with the casino team at Gabriel Group and help out with proofreading and other projects for our nonprofit clients as well. I am a big proponent of the power of print and am very “old school” in my belief that proper spelling and grammar are the foundation of good communication.
Surprise, surprise … I have a strong background in newspapers. I have a degree in journalism from Marquette University, and I’ve worked at the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Effingham Daily News and the San Diego Union-Tribune. I have also done quite a bit of freelance copyediting for Frommer’s Travel Guides and the Complete Idiot’s Guide series as well.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, Benny, and two teenage sons, Matt and Dan; walking my dog, Woody; exploring St. Louis history; gardening; playing the piano; and cheering on the Chicago White Sox.
My first job was as a candy girl at a movie theater.
As a child, I wanted to grow up to be an archaeologist or a medical tech, like my mom.
