Senior Copywriter, Fundraising
Hi, I am Shannon … I serve as a Senior Copywriter on the fundraising team at Gabriel Group. For the past 12 years, I’ve had my foot in the fundraising door, writing for a wide range of nonprofits, rescue missions and social service organizations. I’ve enjoyed the fast clip of the ad agency world and served on in-house writing teams at Fortune 100 companies, but I find the most fulfillment in writing for results that are greater than a bottom line.
While not a native St. Louisan, I’ve spent many years in the area, graduating from Saint Louis University in 2004 with a master’s degree in communication and earning a B.A. in English composition from Truman State University in 2001.
When I am not in the office, I soak up as much family time as I can with my husband, Kostya, and our three energetic children, Jakob, Lily and Lukas. I love to play and follow sports, get outside for a run and try new restaurants with family and friends.
My first job growing up in Monmouth, Illinois was detasseling and pollinating corn. I used to have nightmares about getting lost in cornfields. Thankfully, they never came true.
As a child, I wanted to grow up to be a famous songwriter. I still play the guitar and sing, but these days, the songs are mostly about Old MacDonald having a farm.
