Mid-Point Donor Program as part of the ongoing annual fund campaign

 TARGET AUDIENCE

Active and lapsed donors whose past giving patterns indicated they may have the interest and capacity to make gifts at the $1,000 level

OBJECTIVES

  • Significantly increase the number of donors giving $1,000 or more annually
  • Increase overall average gift size
  • Uncover prospects to feed the major donor pipeline

STRATEGY/EXECUTION

  • The St. Elizabeth of Hungary Society was created to recognize donors making annual gifts of $1,000 or more. An invitation was developed and included in the regular direct campaign kick-off and wrap-up appeals each year to select audiences

RESULTS

  • Since launching the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Society in the fall of 2011, the number of new donors contributing at the $1,000+ level has increased from 283 to 405 or 43%
  • The total number of donors at this level is up 11%
  • The overall average gift generated through direct mail has risen by 22%
